Deputy Commissioner, Bokaro Rajesh Singh held a review meeting on Saturday at the confidential office room to review the progress of the Mass Drug Administration (MDA) campaign conducted under the Filaria Eradication Programme. 

Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Singh, Civil Surgeon should be sent to the team again at the place where there is no coverage.  So that the missing people can be given medicine. 

DC directed all NGO representatives to enhance the team's capacity and ensure that they work on the basis of micro plan.

Singh, while directing Civil Surgeon Dr. Ashok Kumar Pathak, said that by sending his team to the offices of BSL Plant, Electro Steel, IEL Gomia, Dalmia Cement and CCL, all the staff members along with all their family members were dispensed with medicine and be able to complete the goal. 

He should involve the Superintendent of Labour in this work so that all the laborers of the district can be fed medicine and also asked to extend the Mass Drug Administration (MDA) campaign for the next five days.

Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Singh directed the Civil Surgeon to promote in urban areas and we have also to do better in the remaining days.  So that we can accomplish the goal and go one step towards eliminating Faleria from the root.  He asked everyone to send a report every day after the completion of the daily work.

It may be noted that a Mass Drug Administration (MDA) campaign is being carried out to eradicate filariasis in the district. 

The campaign has started from 22 February itself. For the first three days, booths were fed with DEC and albendazole drugs. 

At the same time, people have to go door-to-door for the rest of the day to feed DEC and Albendazole medicine.  Now it has been extended for the next five days, which will be fed door to door DEC and Albendazole medicine.

District Malaria Officer NP Singh, WHO Dr. Manoj Kumar,  Dr. BD Ashish Kumar of BBD, Representative of NGO and Sanjay Kumar of Scout Guide and other representatives of PDI were present on the occasion.
