The perennial Rajyavisek and Pusyavisek Utsav celebration in Baldev Jew temple under Sidhal village in Jagatsinghpur district was held on Thursday. Additional District Magistrate Satchidananda Sahoo was designated as Thakur Raj of temple and performed religious rituals in presence of temple priests, temple management members and hundreds of local villagers from adjoining villages.
Earlier, the new designated Thakur Raja ADM Sahoo was given ceremonial welcome by villagers and temple management on the village outskirts. The new Thakur Raja was taken to temple premises in a huge procession and later the coronation rituals were performed for designating Thakur Raj at the temple.
After assuming new Thakur Raja for the temple, ADM Sahoo accompanied by senior officials, like Tehsildar Jagatsinghpur Manas Ranjan Bhoi, DIPRO Kaminiranjan Patnaik held a meeting, where members of temple Management were present. They discussed ongoing developmental works in the shrine.
ADM Sahoo put emphasis on adherence to Covid 19 preventive guidelines meant for devotees after the district administration allowed the temple reopening recently.
