Play ‘Aur Chidiya Sher Ban Gayi’ staged online

Tuesday, 31 August 2021 | Staff Reporter | Bhopal

On the fourth day of online national theatre festival, playAur Chidiya Sher Ban Gayi was performed on Facebook Live.

It is a political satire drama. It casts sarcasm on the leaders who have gained power in the country with the help of unity of caste or other tricks. Leaders who invoke their weakness and failure always on the public.

Directed by Prasanna Soni, the play was performed by the artists of Rangdoot theatre troupe.

The story of the play is told on the pretext of a forest. Once in the forest, the gods of the forest issue these decrees that from now on there will be no permanent lion. Now, if the animals of the forest wish, then they can choose any lion on the basis of their own choice, that is, now the king of the forest will decide on the basis of election. Hearing this, a wave of happiness runs in all the animals of the forest. He feels that now he too will get a chance to become a lion.

The dog, the jackal and the owl get divided into their own castes and field their candidates in the elections. Owls become the new lion of the forest by winning elections on the basis of numbers or majority. As soon as the lion is formed, the owl issues a decree that since I only see at night, henceforth all the works of the forest will be done at night instead of day. All animals will sleep during the day and do their own work at night. Some animals in the jungle were very happy with this different decision. But a small bird in the forest protested this. And said that being a king does not mean that you change the laws of nature.
