Haryana Government on Friday said that after Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar’s announcement to reduce VAT on fuel, the price of both petrol and diesel is less in state as compared to neighboring states.A day before, the Chief Minister had announced a reduction in VAT on petrol and diesel prices so as to reduce their price on lines of Central Government. “After this decision, the price of petrol has come down from `106.94 to `95.27 in Haryana. Also, the diesel price has come down from `98.60 to `86.51,” said an official spokesman. Giving details, the spokesman said that petrol and diesel prices are still higher in other states as compared to Haryana. In Punjab, petrol is `105.02, in Delhi price of petrol is `103.97. Similarly, petrol in Himachal is `96.06 and it is `111.10 in Rajasthan.Diesel price in Punjab is `88.76, in Delhi it is `86.67 and in Rajasthan, the price is `95.71.
It is evident from figures of these states that petrol and diesel is cheaper in Haryana and people of state are getting benefit of this, the spokesman said.On occasion of Diwali, the Central Government had announced a reduction in prices of petrol and diesel. Subsequently, the Chief Minister had announced to reduce VAT on petrol and diesel in Haryana.
