The State Government on Saturday issued fresh Covid-19 guidelines for the month of February with a number of relaxations, including an increase in the ceiling size of gatherings for marriages and funerals in non-containment zone areas.

The protocols would have to be scrupulously followed in the containment zones.

As per the new guidelines, a maximum of 500 persons would be allowed for marriage and funeral-related events. In closed spaces, a maximum of 50% of the hall capacity would be allowed and mask-wearing, social distancing, thermal scanning and use of hand wash or sanitiser would be made mandatory.

“The Department of Higher Education shall take an appropriate decision regarding reopening of colleges or higher education institutions and hostels under its control by following the SoP issued by the Department, UGC, AICTE, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India,” stated a Government notification.

“The Department of School and Mass Education will release a detailed SoP for the primary schools and decide on opening of such schools with approval of Government,” the notification said.

Besides, Anganwadi Centres throughout the State would function from February 1.
