The department of ST, SC and OBC Welfare Department has detected an alleged fraud committed by Pitambar Singh Kharwar son of Mahavir Kharwar of Bero block presently posted as Sub-divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Nirsa in Dhanbad district.
Pitambar allegedly has submitted a fake caste certificate of being a member of Scheduled Tribe ( ST) community for seeking advantage of quota to get a police job.
The matter came to fore when the aforementioned department issued a letter giving him a week's time to reply on this issue as the said police officer. The officer had been evading the letter sent by the department earlier to furnish his side on a complaint made regarding his caste received by the department. Inquiry suggests that Kharwar is not a member of ST Community.
The department has issued notice to the officer in March this year but despite reminders has not received any reply.
The letter issued by the under secretary of the aforementioned department in his letter has mentioned that if Kharwar failed to reply within stipates period, the department would recommend action against him .
Attempts to get a version of SDPO failed as he did not pick up the phone .
