In a bid to battle against Covid-19 and its variant Omicron, the administrations in Chhattisgarh’s Raigarh and Korba districts on Thursday banned New Year parties in hotels and public places.
Raigarh Collector Bhim Singh said this in a revised order issued to control coronavirus infection, an official statement said.
Action under the Disaster Management Act, Epidemic Diseases Act and the Indian Penal Code will be taken against violators, it said.
A similar order was issued by Korba Collector Ranu Sahu.
Chhattisgarh’s Covid-19 count reached 10,07,847 on Wednesday after 106 cases were detected, the single day addition touching the 100-mark in the state for the first time after August 2021.
