In view of surge in infections across the state, Himachal Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on Tuesday urged the people of the state to remain cautious against Covid-19.
“The virus is more fatal this time,” Thakur said while presiding over a meeting to review the status of Covid-19 in the state at the premises of Dr. Rajendra Prasad Medical College, Tanda, in district Kangra.
During the meeting, the health experts apprized that after the advent of new variants of Corona, there are no traces of cough or fever and the patients are just complaining of joint pains, weakness and loss of appetite and COVID-19 pneumonia. It is taking less time to get to extremes in comparison to the past and sometimes, there are no symptoms. Therefore it is better to be careful than remaining unguarded and putting ourselves, family and the society in danger, they said.
Reviewing the situation, the CM asked the health authorities and local administration to keep a close vigil on the persons kept under home isolation. Local Panchayati Raj representatives should be involved in monitoring such persons and encourage the people to take precautionary measures in fight against this deadly virus, he said.
