Mob thrashes pastor, vandalises property

A group of 150 people beat up a 25-year-old pastor after barging into his house in a village in Chhattisgarh’s Kabirdham district and while raising slogans against religious conversion, police said on Monday.The mob vandalised his property and manhandled his family members on Sunday before escaping. The incident in Polmi village took place when a prayer was on in the house of pastor Kawal Singh Paraste, Kabirdham Superintendent of Police Mohit Garg said. The attackers damaged articles of worship and household items and tore up religious scriptures, Garg said. A case has been lodged and further action is being taken, he said.
