The first meeting of the NLC Talabira Thermal Power Plant Welfare and Settlement Advisory Committe was held on Wednesday.
Northern Range RDC Niranjan Sahoo presided over the meeting in which Health Minister and Jharsuguda MLA Naba Kisore Das, Bargarh MP Suresh Pujari, Sambalpur MP Nitish Ganga Deb, Rengali MLA Nauri Nayak, Northern range DIG Narasingh Bhol, Jharsuguda Collector Saroj Kumar Samal, Sambalpur Collector Suvam Saxena, Jharsuguda SP Bikash Chandra Dash, Sambalpur SP B Gangadhar, Jharsuguda Zilla Parishad Chairman Laxminarayan Patel, NLC India Project head and Director and reoresentatives of NGOs attended.
An expenditure estimate for the project was made for Rs 19,422 crore and it was revealed that 1447.14 acres of land had been identified.
The land has been identified in Hirma, Kumbhari, Tareikela, Tumkela, Luhurkanth villages of Jharsuguda district. Jharsuguda Collector presented all details of the projects. The RDC advised to be careful for pollution hazards and welfare of villagers. Likewise, he directed the Collector to pay attention to timely disbursement of compensation to all the affected villagers.
Ministers , MP and MLAs advised the project authorities to ensure safety of villagers and engagement of locals in project activities. ADM Jharsuguda Pradeep Kumar Sahoo gave vote of thanks.
