Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and MCD in-charge Durgesh Pathak accused the BJP- ruled Municipal Corporation of transforming the national capital into the Mosquito Capital.
Pathak said that the civic bodies have not started fogging in the national capital to curb the mosquito's spread. He said that the AAP demands the Corporations to begin the fogging within 48 hours or else the citizens of Delhi will take to the streets.
However, responding to the claim, Delhi BJP Spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor said that the AAP leader kept leveling allegation after allegation under political compulsion that too without any facts.
“The AAP seem to have intentionally ignored the fact that fogging cannot be done following the order issued by the DDMA as it can cause breathing problems to people,” he said.
"The MCDs cleans neither the drains nor is the garbage collected - this is the primary reason for the outbreak of and the increase in the number of mosquitoes. BJP has dominated the MCD for the last 15 years yet as per a survey conducted by the Prime Minister himself, it has been revealed that Delhi is the dirtiest city in the country," he added.
