The last and fifth member of debt ridden family which committed mass suicide died in the wee hours on Monday. Archana Joshi the lone survivor among the mass suicide family members lost life on fourth day after consuming poison.
Four women involved in harassing the family for repaying borrowed money were arrested. Search for Raju Rai, Laxmi Rai, Santosh chouksey and Babli Gaur has been intensified. The four accused went missing after news of mass suicide surfaced.
The earlier nabbed four accused woman were sent under judicial custody while their aides and other money lenders who pushed the family to take extreme step would be investigated.
Notably , Sanjeev Joshi who was head of family succumbed to death late in the night on Saturday, he along with four others members of family by consuming poison at Ashok Vihar colony on November 25; Sanjeev’s death was fourth after his two daughters and mother.
Within four days, five member family of Sanjeev lost their lives after committing mass suicide by consuming poison.
The first death was of Sanjeev’s 67-year-old mother late in the night on Thursday while 16-year-old Purvi in the morning on Friday; Sanjeev died late in the night on Saturday.
Sanjeev’s wife was reportedly critical and in the morning on Monday she died.
After the incident surfaced and based on the suicide notes, video and other details gang of money lenders were arrested by police. The gang used to provide money on interest and later collect hefty interest and would threaten victims in case if interest was not paid on time.
