Under Gamak series Ustad Alauddin Khan Sangeet and Kala Akademi organised musical performances on Wednesday.
Under the event, Ujjain's Sadhana Jejurikar and his group performed singing and Gwalior's Maya Maryada Kulshreshtha and group performed Kathak dance. It was broadcast live on the department's YouTube channel.
The programme started with singing by Sadhna Jejurikar and colleagues. The artists sang Ram's song..., Mhane Chakar Rakho Ji..., Mhara Re Girdhar Gopal. Then, they performed songs and bhajans.
The artists wrapped up their performance Bhajman Ram Charan Sukhdai. On the stage, Shahid Masoom on keyboard, Babulal Gurva on Tabla and Kailash Gandharva on Violin accompanied.
The second presentation was Kathak dance by Maya Maryada Kulshreshtha and group. The artists performed Ardhang Shiv Vandana in the presentation.
The music of the presentation is given by Pandit Birju Maharaj and in this Vandana there is a description of the body of both Shiva and Parvati.
Through the presentation they showed of how different both Shiva and Parvati are, yet complement each other.
In the next sequence, the traditional lifting and third of Kathak. In this presentation the celebration of woman's femininity was celebrated.
At the end of performance, Tarana with lyrics from Kathak and Thumri composed by Maharaj Bindadin in which scenes of Krishna and his various pastimes were performed in dance form.
