Monday, 29 November 2021 | Staff Reporter | RAIPUR

Train services between Jagdalpur and Kirandul were restored on Sunday after repairing the railway track near village Bhansi Masapara in Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada district.

Nineteen wagons and three locomotives of a goods train derailed on the Kirandul-Visakhapatnam railway section in Dantewada after Naxalites uprooted tracks between village Bhansi Masapara and Jhirka.

No casualty was reported in the incident that took place in a forest area around 8.30 pm on Friday.

The movement of trains was disrupted between Jagdalpur and Kirandul. The train which was derailed was loaded with iron ore, a police communication said.

The Naxalites on Friday removed the nut-bolt of the railway track, uprooting 100 metres of the track, leading to the derailment of the train wagons and engines.

A railway team with help of Chhattisgarh Police repaired the damaged portion on a war footing. The services were restored by 4.10 pm on Sunday.
