The Chhattisgarh unit of the Indian Youth Congress (IYC) on Wednesday unanimously passed a resolution here urging Rahul Gandhi to become the Congress President.
IYC President B.V. Srinivas, Chhattisgarh PCC chief Mohan Markam, Jagdalpur MLA Rekhchand Jain, IYC Chhattisgarh in-charge Santosh Golkunda and Chhattisgarh IYC chief Purnachandra Coco Padhi were present at the meeting where the resolution was moved.
The meeting thanked Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel for forming Rajiv Gandhi Mitan Clubs across the state.
IYC General Secretary and Chhattisgarh in-charge Golkunda told the meeting that discipline was the need of the hour. It was the discipline which gave the Congress an impressive win in the Assembly elections.
Padhi appealed to the IYC activists to be prepared for any challenge.
Markam termed the IYC the backbone of the Congress.
