Chhattisgarh Police arrested five persons for running two IPL betting rackets in Mahasamund and Bilaspur districts, police said on Wednesday.
Mahasamund Additional Superintendent of Police Megha Tembhurkar told The Pioneer that Sanajy Patel (30), Adil Khan (29) and Nikhil Midnani (19) were arrested for betting on an IPL match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Capital on Tuesday night.Police seized a mobile phone and Rs 92,000 in cash from them.
Bilaspur Superintendent of Police Deepak Kumar Jha said Shailesh Kashyap (45) and Vinod Yadav (36) were arrested for betting on a match between SunRisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals on Tuesday night.
Five mobile phones, a TV set-top box and Rs 12,650 in cash were seized from them.
