Seminar cum online quiz competition at CMPDI
A Seminar-cum-Online Quiz Competition was organised in the series of celebrations of Amrit Mahotsav of Azadi at Regional Institute of CMPDI.2, Dhanbad. In this programme the major dimensions of economic development of India after 1947 were discussed. In the said seminar, Industrial Disputes Act.1947, Development Programs under Five Year Economic Plan, Economic Crisis of 1966, Nationalization of Banks in 1969, Nationalization of Coal Industry and Oil Companies in 1973 and New Economic Policy in 1991. The participants discussed the programs. All the participants participated online in the quiz competition following the Covid guidelines.
New Book by Soubhik Chakraborty
Professor, Department of Mathematics, BIT Mesra, Ranchi, Soubhik Chakraborty along with co-authors: Swarima Tewari. Arshi Rahman, Maria Jamal, Apra Lipi, Apoorva Chakraborty, Apoorva Nanda and Pranjala Shukla has come up with his new book titled, ‘Hindustani Classical Music: A Historical and Computational Study’ . The book aims to address the historical development of the great Indian raga tradition, enhanced by computational approaches, and to use computational strategies to analyse aspects of contemporary Hindustani classical music (HCM). It is divided into two parts with Part 1 focusing on the history and aesthetics of HCM and Part 2 covering its computational aspects. The author concludes the work with reflecting on the lives of a few renowned musicians and musicologists with an account of hilarious moments taken from their lives to excite the reader to know more about HCM. This book would be useful for musicians, musicologists, researchers in music history, aesthetics, computational musicology, and advanced undergraduate and postgraduate students of music and musicology.
