Swain new Chief Postmaster General
Bhubaneswar: Suvendu Swain, a 1990-batch Indian Postal Services officer, assumed charge of Chief Postmaster General, Odisha Postal Circle here, on Monday. He has served the department in the States of Madhya Pradesh, J&K, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh in different capacities before being elevated to the present post. Swain also has vast knowledge and experience in the fields of art, culture and education. He had earlier worked as Director, Postal Services (HQ) in the Odisha Circle. The staffs and officers while welcoming him as the circle head expect much growth in the State during his tenure.
Singer Shakti Mishra admitted to ICU
Bhubaneswar: Popular singer Shakti Mishra was on Monday admitted to an ICU of the KIMS hospital here as his condition turned critical. He was suffering from kidney-related ailments and had undergone a surgery recently.
