Haryana will organise a State-level, ‘Run for Unity’ event in Gurugram on October 31 on the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
Apart from this, programmes will also be organised at the district-level, said Sandeep Singh, the Minister of State for Sports and Youth Affairs during a meeting held here.
The Minister said that the Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar will participate in the state-level programme. The event, ‘Run for Unity’ will foster the ideology of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel of unity among the youth and will also strengthen their dedication towards the nation. This programme is organised every year, he said.
On this occasion, the Minister of State directed the officers to conduct this event in a big way. People of all age groups can participate in this ‘Run for Unity’ 5-km race, he added.
He directed that wide publicity should be ensured at district-level for this event so that maximum people participate in it. Singh said that the scheme of rewarding the sportspersons will be digitized soon and for this all the formalities are being completed.
The Minister also directed the officers that there should be no delay and negligence in giving incentives to the sportspersons and if there are any issues then this should be fixed. Maximum children should be involved by way of organizing meetings of coach and parents so that their performance is assessed.
He also directed the district officials to conduct mapping to open Youth Clubs so that the number of such activities can be increased. Singh shared that the government has extended the time for the gradation certificate issued in the recruitment of Group C and D by two months. Those who have the authentic certificates can apply by the end of October, he added.
