Haryana Govt adopts physically challenged orphaned teen

Vishal, a 16-year-old physically challenged orphaned boy, has been adopted by the Haryana Government after his parents’ sudden demise due to Covid-19 this month.

This was announced by Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar during his sudden visit in Gurugram on Sunday. He reached Deepashram orphanage and met the teenager. Khattar announced that all the expenses of the boy will be borne by the State Government.

The CM informed that Haryana Government has announced ‘Mukyamantri Bal Seva Yojna’ for those children who have been orphaned due to Covid-19 pandemic . Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also spoken about such children and announced financial help through PM Care Funds to the age of 23 years, Khattar said.

According to the district administration spokesperson, The boy was orphaned from childhood. The couple who adopted him also unfortunately died due to Covid-19.

First his adopted father died and after that the adoptive mother passed away and the child became orphaned again.

“Vishal is mentally ill and he can not even speak. Here Deepashram orphanage is serving such children which is very commendable work,” Khattar said.
