The coalition Government in State has planned to develop the residence of JMM patriarch cum Rajya Sabha MP Shibu Soren also popularly known as Dishom Guru as heritage building. The state building construction department in this connection has issued a tender to develop Shibu Soren’s government residence located at Morhabadi, as a heritage building.
Soren’s residence will be made a heritage building at a cost of Rs 4.59 crore and the company taking the work will have to complete the work within six months.
According to the e-procurement notice issued by the building construction department, the tender will be published on www.jharkhandtenders.gov.in. Bids can be submitted on the website till 20 December 2021. Applicants applying for the bid will need to have UCAN registration. The former Chief Ministers of the State including Shibu Soren have got government accommodations, but Shibu Soren has got permanent residence not because of being the former Chief Minister but because of his important role in the Jharkhand movement. He has been allotted lifelong residence at Morhabadi after a decision of the Cabinet.
Jharkhand Mukti Morcha president Soren devoted his entire life for the uplift of State of people of Jharkhand, with the dream of a separate state of Jharkhand and to end the Mahajani system and usury from the region.
Many agitators were martyred for the dream of Jharkhand. He also endured many different types of torture. Now he is also known as Dishom Guru. In Santali, Dishom Guru means the leader of the country. Today everyone is known by the name of Dishom Guru. He searched the forests for years.
He went to jail many times and continued to agitate till the money laundering and usury system was not abolished in Jharkhand gave a new direction to the separate State.
In January this year, senior Soren celebrated his 77 birthday by cutting a 77-pound cake in the presence of the Chief Minister and his son Hemant Soren. On the occasion, Chief Minister Hemant Soren commemorated the day by launching three books, two in Hindi and one in English, that depict the life struggles of Soren Senior, popularly known as Guruji in the state he helped form. Authored by Anuj Kumar Sinha, and published by Prabhat Prakashan, the books – Dishom Guru: Shibu Soren, Tribal Hero: Shibu Soren and Suno Baccho, Adivasi Sangharsh Ke Nayak Shibu Soren in Gaatha – highlight the rise of Shibu Soren and how he fought against the Mahajani system and united the tribal community to fight against oppressive forces.
