Bhadant Nagarjun Surai Sasai on Friday inaugurated the International Sirpur Baudh Mahotsav and Research Seminar at Sirpur, a Buddhist archaeological site in Mahasamund district in Chhattisgarh. The three-day event will end on March 14.
Hosted by the Chhattisgarh Heritage and Cultural Foundation, it will see participation of renowned Buddhist scholars including archaeologists, historians, researchers, writers and university professors from different parts of the country and abroad.
During the event, artists will present cultural programmes. An exhibition of short films and photographs will be held along with a book fair.
Winners of competitions based on Buddhist heritage and culture, essays, songs, poem recital, rangoli, sand art, painting, art and quiz will get awards.
