The newly elected Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FJCCI) team has set its priority to work in the larger interest of traders at the same time becoming a link between traders and Government. On Tuesday, the FJCCI elected 21 executive members. Team Dhiraj clinched 18 posts out of 21 executive, while three independents were also elected in the executive panel.
The 21 elected members, who form the executive panel, will thereafter choose seven office bearers from themselves who would run the show for next one year.
The office bearers consist of the president, two vice presidents, one general secretary, two joint secretaries and a treasurer.
Kishore Mantri, a transport businessman has secured maximum votes. Mantri, who has received 1479 votes, said, “Our priority is to work for the larger interest of traders at the same time addressing their issue with the Government.” Mantri further said some of the issue which has been affecting traders is frequent power cuts, prevailing irregularities in single window system, circle office, land and revenue, transport, urban development departments and Municipal Corporation have largely impacted on trade and industries in the state.
He further said, “The new FJCCI team will raise the government for setting up transport nagar in the state capital, along with giving much focus and attention to Medium and Small Scale Industries in the state. It is good that the government is inviting big players for investment in the state, but unless and until small scale industries are given much attention the state cannot achieve industrial growth.”
Mantri who has been a member of FJCCI for the past two decades also shared his view on the new FJCCI team, saying that young educated traders who have experience in different fields are becoming members of FJCCI.
Echoing the views of Mantri, Rohit Agarwal who too has been elected in FJCCI executive team said, “All 21 executive members will work together for development and betterment of state and trading community.”
Rohit said, “In present context our demands is simplification of compliance procedures under GST. Working in coordination in Ease of Doing Business, working ways for bringing good investment in the state, developing the State as a tourism hub, incentives for women entrepreneurs among others.” He also said that apart from these for decentralization of trade, a transport nagar should be constructed in the State Capital, along with the iron market, wholesale cloth market and others.
The new elected members also said that FJCCI will expand in the state and in this direction FJCCI offices will be set up in all districts of state.
Around 3480 traders who are members of FJCCI voted for three days (September 26, 27 and 28) electing 21 candidates out of total 35 candidates. Though traders from Ranchi are active in FJCCI, the Chamber is widely spread across the State with traders’ bodies having six regional presidents too.
The six regional presidents are one each from — one each from North and South Chotanagpur, Kolhan, Palamau, Coal belt and Santhal Pargana regions.
