The cumulative tally of the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) in Uttarakhand crossed one lakh figure mark on Tuesday with the state health department reporting 128 new cases of the disease. The state now has 100118 cases of Covid-19.
The department also reported the death of two patients of the disease on the day. The disease has so far claimed 1713 lives in the state. The authorities discharged 147 patients from different hospitals of the state following their recovery on Tuesday. A total of 95212 patients have recovered from the disease in the state and the recovery percentage is now at 95.10 and the sample positivity rate is 3.67 percent.
The authorities reported 48 new cases of the disease from Dehradun, 22 from Udham Singh Nagar, 20 from Haridwar, 15 from Tehri, 12 from Nainital, nine from Pauri, seven from Uttarkashi, five from Chamoli, three from Almora and one from Bageshwar on the day.
The health department reported the death of a 69 year old female patient at JNL district hospital Rudrapur in Udham Singh Nagar on Tuesday. A 40 year old male was reported dead at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh on the day.
The state now has 1696 active patients of the disease. Dehradun now is at the top of the table of active cases the disease with 613 patients, Haridwar has 494, Nainital 137, Tehri 123, Udham Singh Nagar 65, Almora 43, Uttarkashi 38, Chamoli 23, Champawat and Pithoragarh 20 each and Bageshwar 13 active patients of the disease.
Meanwhile in the ongoing vaccination drive, 14942 people were vaccinated in different parts of the state on Tuesday. In the state 122450 people have been fully vaccinated so far as they have received both the first and second dose of the vaccine. A total of 324635 senior citizens (60 Plus) have received the first dose of the vaccine in the state. Similarly 24960 persons in the age group of 45-59 years having co-morbidity have been vaccinated. The Chief Operations Officer (COO) of state Covid-19 control room, Dr Abhishek Tripathi said that 415 vaccine sessions were organised in different parts of the state on Tuesday.
