Cop duped to tune of Rs 1L on pretext of online money transfer

Policeman posted with Aishbagh police was duped to the tune of Rs 1.5 lakh while trying to check transfer of Rs 3000 using Google pay e-wallet; Jehangirabad police have started investigation.

The victim HCM Samaylal Chaturvedi was duped of Rs  1.49 after he was trying to check non-transfer of payment of money using e-wallet Google pay.

In his complaint victim stated that he transferred Rs 3000 to his brother’s account but he failed to receive money. Victim shared details with his son who searched online for contact details of Google pay and contacted on the provided details.

The fraudster posed as official of Google pay obtained information and assured that money would be transferred back to the same account but account should have money and as the account was not having money he provided bank account details of his mother. From that account victim fraudulently obtained Rs 1.49 lakh in parts.

Soon after the victim received messages of deduction he rushed to bank made stop payment, later he lodged complaint with cyber cell.

The victim was provided refund of Rs 49000 in the investigation by cyber cell and later case was transferred to Jehangirabad police.

Police have started investigation against mobile phone number holder who commit the fraud.
