The Congress on Saturday suspended Sushil Sunny Agrawal, Chairman of the Chhattisgarh State Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board and former PCC Secretary, for abusing a party colleague and indecent behavior.
The incident occurred at the entry of Rajiv Bhavan, the Congress state headquarters, when Agrawal abused and physically assaulted PCC General Secretary Amarjeet Singh Chawla in presence of PCC President Mohan Markam.
Markam, who tried to pacify both but who continued the spat over parking their vehicles, later ordered the suspension Agrawal, the Congress announced.
The order suspending Agrawal, who holds the status of a Cabinet Minister, was issued by Ravi Ghosh, officiating General Secretary (Administration).
It accused Agrawal of ugly conduct in the presence of media and public as well as the PCC President. His behaviour was considered as act of indiscipline.
He was suspended with immediate effect from the primary membership of the Indian National Congress under Section 6 (c) of the party organization.
On Friday, two groups of the National Students Union of India (NSUI) clashed with each other on the arrival of NSUI national President Neeraj Kundan at Rajiv Bhavan. PCC functionaries pulled up the NSUI leaders on the issue.
On October 25 at Jashpur, Congress leaders entered into an altercation in the presence of AICC Secretary Saptagiri Shankar.
