Congress fortnight-long outreach programme ends

Tuesday, 30 November 2021 | Staff Reporter | KONDAGAON

PCC chief Mohan Markam on Monday led a Congress march in Chhattisgarh's Kondagaon district headquarters as its outreach programme ended with a stinging attack on the Modi government.

The march culminated in a public meeting at Kondagaon where Markam, AICC Secretary in-charge Chandan Yadav and Excise Minister Kawasi Lakhma addressed a gathering.

The speakers criticized the Modi government for soaring prices of essential goods including petrol, diesel and LPG cylinder. The price hike had made life difficult for the common people and the worst hit were women.

During the outreach event, the Congress reached out to the people at ward and Panchayat levels across the state. It began on November 14.

Hundreds of Shiv Sena workers including their state office bearers joined the Congress fold on this occasion.

The campaign raised the issues of price hike, inflation, monetization policy and the farmers' protests against the three farm laws of the Central government.
