It is learnt that the support of former Chief Minister and General Secretary of All India Congress Committee (AICC) Harish Rawat tilted the scales in favour of Pancholi from Salt.
In the assembly election of the 2017, Pancholi was the candidate of the Congress party and despite a strong Modi wave she had put up a good contest and lost the seat by a thin margin to Late Surendra Singh.
