In an unprecedented event, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday joined a videoconference to bless a newly-wed HIV positive couple in Gopalpur of Ganjam district.
Patnaik talked to the newlyweds and extended his best wishes on the occasion.
The wedding of Ravindra and Padma was solemnised by the Ganjam district administration at the Gopalpur Shraddha Sanjivani Daycare Home. Earlier, the two were staying at the daycare home for their education in the district and are currently doing their jobs in Hyderabad.
Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange was present at the event among others and performed the Kanyadaan ritual. He also presented a bank cheque to the couple.
