Shivering cold conditions prevailed for second consecutive day across the state after rainfall and hailstorm in the past two days.
Weather conditions would remain extreme for next 2-3 days in which cold wave conditions, cold day conditions, moderate to dense foggy conditions and frost conditions would prevail at several places.
Extreme cold conditions prevailed after cloud cover faded in the morning on Thursday.
Bhopal witnessed night temperature at 8.5 degree Celsius while 19.8 degree Celsius.
The night temperature would be dip to 7 degree Celsius in Bhopal.
Lowest night temperature was recorded at 7 degree Celsius in Raisen, Dhar, Gwalior and Guna.
After the hailstorm fog in many parts of the state was witnessed. The temperature will increase during the day, but due to the chilly winds, it will be cold. The maximum mercury during the day will remain around 20 to 24 degree Celsius. Cold wave will continue for two days in 21 districts of the state.
There is a possibility of rain again after January 6 which will dip day temperature.
Most of the regions would witness night temperature below 10 degree Celsius in the state for the next one week.
The Met department has issued warning of cold wave conditions in Raisen, Dhar, Seoni, Gwalior, Datia, Shivpuri, Chattarpur and Sagar.
Cold day conditions would be witnessed in Sagar division, Dhar, Khandwa, Khargone, Ratlam, Shajapur, Ujjain, Bhopal, Raisen, Sehore, Betul, Mandla, Balaghat, Jabalpur, Rewa, Satna, Guna and Datia districts.
Moderate to dense fog conditions would be witnessed in Sagar, Gwalior and Chambal divisions.
Frost conditions would be witnessed in Gwalior, Chattapur and Datia
