In a major breakthrough, Latehar District Police has succeeded in arresting seven LWE rebels, including TPC area commander Ramesh Ganju alias Boda Ji. On the secret information received by Latehar SP Prashant Anand, the raiding team formed under the leadership of ASP Vipul Pandey has achieved this success.
The District Police had received information that TPC insurgents were about to receive levy near Shergarh of Balumath Police Station from a businessman.
The Police team in its first attempt caught three TPC militants with a loaded country made revolver and three sets of uniforms. Then on this spot, Jheri Saw of Shergada was arrested with Rs 20,000. Pandey said that according to information shared by Jheri, TPC area commander Ramesh Ganjhu alias Boda ji was arrested from Balumath's Bakru Tola Bhelwahi with a semi-automatic rifle, 136 live bullets and money collected as levy.
Three other rebels were also arrested in this sequence. Rs 1 lakh 47 cash, cloth and material were recovered from them. Four other militants managed to escape from the spot.
