The court of Chief Judicial Magistrate( CJM) Dhanbad has ordered to lodge a case against Union Minister of State for education Annapurna Devi, who had conducted Jan Ashirwad yatra in August this year.The order has been passed on a petition of MD Kalam Azad resident of Bhuli, who in his petition, has claimed that the yatra has caused fear among people of Dhanbad of spreading Corona once again. Even the district administration failed to take appropriate action in this regard he claimed in his petition.
The yatra was conducted on August 19 and the minister allegedly had visited several locations violating Covid protocol with a large number of people. The complaint was filed in August by him with the court and after hearing today it directed to file a case against Annapurna Devi under relevant sections. HN Singh, advocate, who appeared on behalf of Azad said , the court took cognizance under section 279 and 217 of IPC and has forwarded the petition to Dhanbad police for filing case against Union Minister.
