In a bonanza for State Government employees, the State Cabinet on Tuesday raised the Government’s contribution to the National Pension Scheme to 14 per cent of basic salary from the current 10 per cent. The minimum employee contribution will, however, remain at 10 per cent.
Cabinet Coordination department Secretary, Vandana Dadel said, “The State Government has decided to raise the Government’s contribution to the National Pension Scheme to 14 per cent of basic salary from the current 10 per cent. The contribution will be counted from July 2021.”
Sources said that the State Government will incur Rs 342 crore on the exchequer, while around 5 lakh State Government employees will be benefited with the new pension scheme.
The State Government has raised its contribution to NPS on the lines of Centre.
The Centre has already raised its contribution on NPS from 10 per cent to 14 per cent January 1, 2019.
In another major decision taken by the State Government, the Cabinet gave its nod for allotting funds for creating infrastructure facilities and beautification of tribal worship places such as Sarna sthal, Santhali religious places known as Jaher among others.
Under the project major beautification and infrastructure strengthening will be made at these worship places.
Dadel said, “Under the scheme not only these tribal worship places will be fenced but halls, parking places, solar lighting arrangements will be made. These worship places will be beautified with pictures of tribal religion, customs and traditions.”
As per Cabinet approval minimum Rs 25 lakh to maximum Rs 5 crore will be spent on infrastructure and beautification on these places, while for Rs 25 lakh project it will be carried out by the beneficiaries committee, for projects worth Rs 5 crore tender processes will be carried out.
The formation of a corpus fund of Rs 25 crore has been approved under the Jharkhand State Crop Relief Scheme. In case of crop loss to the farmers, help will be provided from the interest coming from this fund. Along with this an amount of Rs 85.70 crore has been approved for CM Matsya Sampada Yojana.
Approval was given to amend the policy related to compassionate appointment of dependents of a Government servant who died during service.
In the light of irregularities/indiscipline taken by Anil Kumar Singh, Forest Area Officer, Pakur Region, Pakur Forest Division while in government service, filing suit against policies and discharging departmental obligations. Permission was given to give compulsory retirement under Rule-74 (b) (iii) of the Service Code. In today’s Cabinet meeting, consent to seven agenda was given.
