Bokaro saw a significant spurt in fresh COVID-19 cases; the district recorded 17 new positive cases of coronavirus in a single day surge on Wednesday, which is the highest one in the past few months, informed an official.
According to the reports, till now around 19520 people were tested positive for coronavirus in the district, while 19,204 were recovered. The overall number of active cases rushed to 30 while the death toll stands at 286 in the district, he said. Among the 17 fresh, positive cases of coronavirus infections most of them belongs form Bokaro Steel City’s Sector areas; one is from Chas Court area, 4 from Bokaro General Hospital (BGH), 4 from Sector 4 area, Siwandih, Sector 5, Sector 6, Trainees Hostel, and Anand Vihar Phase -2 and Chira Chas area. “All have been shifted to COVID Hospital, and contact tracing of all is being done,” he added.
Expressing concern over the huge spurt in positive cases in the district, Kuldeep Chaudhary, DC Bokaro urged, “Everyone needs to be cautious.” Masks must be applied, follow social distance; wash your hands with soap at regular intervals. The best way is for all of you to be safe in your own homes, he appealed. Today, Chaudhary inspected the Covid Care Center at Sadar Hospital and took an account of the preparations.
During the inspection necessary instructions were given to the concerned officials. Beside others, Deputy Development Commissioner Jai Kishore Prasad, Sub-Divisional Officer Chas Dilip Pratap Singh Shekhawat, Officer on Special Duty to Deputy Commissioner Vivek Kumar Suman, Nodal Officer Bokaro Sadar Hospital Dr. N.P. Singh along with other officials and health workers were present there.
