The Bharatiya Janata Party will break the trend seen in Uttarakhand so far and win the Vidhan Sabha election for the second consecutive term in 2022 with more than 60 seats. Prime Minister Narendra Modi may address a rally in the state during November. This rally will also be attended by various senior party leaders. The BJP state president Madan Kaushik said this on the concluding day of the three-day Chintan Shivir of the party held in Ramnagar.
Addressing the media on the occasion, the BJP State president said that detailed discussions were held on the 2022 Vidhan Sabha elections and final shape was given to the future programmes of the party. He said that discussions were held on the target of achieving a victory in the 2022 elections which would be bigger than the victory in the 2017 elections. Kaushik said that tired of the corruption during the Congress government, the people had voted the BJP to office. The people still question the Congress while the BJP has achieved development and won the trust of the people, he claimed. He said, “By implementing various central and state government welfare schemes effectively, we have made the people feel the effect of the double-engine government.
We also discussed how much we had met the expectations of the public and the position of other political parties. The BJP is definitely going to break the trend by winning more than 60 seats and forming its government for the second consecutive term.”
He further informed that in July all ministers, MLAs and party office bearers will tour 70 Assembly constituencies and 252 Mandals and resolve problems on the spot. The process of selecting booth committees and appointing more coordinators for election will start shortly. A meeting of all the party’s cells’ office bearers will be held at the party’s state office in Dehradun on July 5. After undertaking various organisational and social activities in August and September, the party will start a public contact campaign in October. The party also discussed its planned programmes in November and December.
Kaushik said that the roadmap for 2022 elections was discussed and final shape was given to the party’s strategy.
