An alert has been issued in Chhattisgarh for seasonal diseases, especially those related to the monsoon.
Directives have been issued to all district Chief Medical Officers including all Mayors and Commissioners of civic bodies, Dr Subash Mishra, Director (Epidemic), said on Sunday.
The directive seeks cleaning all the water tanks used for water supply, drains and checking water supply pipelines to avoid clogging. All work should be completed before June 10, Dr Mishra told the media.
He urged people to drink boiled water, keep the house and surroundings clean, use bleaching powder after cleaning, keep away houseflies from food items and not to consume food from outside.
The Food and Drug administration and Health Departments of civic bodies have been told to inspection food sold in their areas.
Last year, many cases of jaundice were reported at Raipur and Bilaspur.
Dr Mishra said the Covid-19 positivity rate in the state has come down to 3.9 percent against 4.4 percent on Saturday.
