Two persons of a family died on the spot and two others were critically injured when they were run over by an unidentified vehicle at Nidhipanda on NH-60 in Baleswar district on Tuesday.
The deceased were identified as Renuka Mohapatra (33) and her eight- year-old daughter Himanshi. The injured were Debadutta Mohapatra (40) and his 12-year-old son Sourav. Both of them were admitted to the District Headquarters Hospital. Debadutta, a resident of Tulanksahi of Baleswar town, had gone to his in-laws’ house with his family by a bike. While returning, the mishap occurred when the unidentified vehicle hit the bike from its rear. Police reached the spot and sent the bodies for postmortem and shifted the injured to hospital.
