14 people corona +ve in ship at Paradip

Wednesday, 31 March 2021 | PNS | PARADIP

Fourteen corona positives have been identified at a ship in the anchorage area of the Paradip Port. Sources said a total of 24 people had reached the port in APJ JIF Ship carrying coal from the Tuticorin Port. After knowing the corona symptoms, a special team of doctors conducted their Covid test. However, reports of 14 of them turned out to be positive. As a result, they have been shifted to a private hospital in Bhubaneswar.

All the corona patients' health conditions were stable and the ship has been sanitised by port authorities. However, there are no problems with other vessels in sea or in anchorage area,  port health official said."All 24 crew members are Indian; and though it's an Indian ship and sails in Indian coastal areas, there is no chance of foreign link or other countries’ corona strain," Chief Medical Officer told media.
