Sangwari Chhattisgarh’ opened in the Indian capital on Monday to make more easily available well-known products of the Chhattisgarh Khadi and Village Industries to people in Delhi.
Rajendra Tiwari, Chairman of the Chhattisgarh Khadi and Village Industries Board, inaugurated the centre at Santushti Shopping Complex, Air Force New Willingdon Camp, Lok Kalyan Marg (formerly Race Course Road).
Rajya Sabha member Phulo Devi Netam, Managing Director of Chhattisgarh Khadi and Village Industries Board Rekha Shukla and Delhi Municipal Corporation Councillor Yasmin Kidwai were present, an official communication said.
The Board has played a big role in strengthening the rural economy even in the difficult situation of Corona period and has become a means of livelihood for villagers, Tiwari said.
Shukla said ‘Sangwari Chhattisgarh’ will mark a new identity in the national capital.
The products on sale will include Khadi dress material, Khadi Gamcha, Khadi Jacket, Khadi Kurta, Khadi Pajama, Khes Chadar, Kosa Saree, Kosa Kurti Piece, Jute Purse, sceneries of Bamboo, clay terracotta thali sets and herbal ingredients and products.
