Lord Suryanarayan is the soul of the world. When the Sun rises, the whole world wakes up and when it sets, the world goes to sleep. So, Lord Sun is the First God of the universe, said Swami Indubhavanand.
He was speaking to devotees at the Boriyakala Ashram.
He said Lord Narayan has given the knowledge of ‘Karma Yog’. Even in Gita, Lord Krishna told Arjun that ‘Karma Yog’ knowledge was first given to Sun, who passed on it to others.
Swami said: ‘Sun witnesses the world, follows it and originates from it. That is why the Sun is also known as ‘Savita’. During rituals, if offerings are offered in fire, it is considered that it goes to the solar system."
He added that the Sun initiates rains, which helps to produce food. Lord Surya is also a witness to ‘Karma’. Therefore, God is also called as ‘Narayana’ and worshipped as ‘Suryanarayana’.
