‘Journalists echo pain of society’

Thursday, 30 September 2021 | Staff Reporter | Bhopal

God has given journalists a special ability of sensitivity and expression. For this reason, journalists have a guiding role in the society. Journalist should use his writing to bring out the problems and discrepancies of the society, the journalist should become a spokesperson of the pain of the society in the true sense said Speaker of the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly, Girish Gautam at  Journalism Festival 2021.

He was expressing his views on the topic 'Post Corona period - a brainstorming, challenges before the media world and their solutions' at the Central India Press Club.

Gautam said that last year there was such a disaster in the world whose enemy we cannot identify in the form of any shape. To counter it, efforts were made at all levels, including in the journalism world. Journalists have worked like a warrior during the Corona period.

He said that the three pillars of democracy are strong only when the fourth pillar i.e. journalism should be fair and work keeping in mind the welfare of the people. The nature of journalism has also changed in the span of several generations.

Today, the efficiency of expression is also being affected, due to which some journalists are not able to work impartially. Journalists have a duty to do the work of awakening social consciousness.

The concept of Liberal Democracy has started forming here. In this people want rights without duties while the real meaning of democracy is rights with duties, this distinction is causing the confusion today.
