‘Ayurveda answer to survive fit, healthy’

If human being needs to survive fit and healthy, Ayurveda (AYUSH) can make it possible. This is the declaration of the experts, researchers, doctors, practitioners of the Ayurveda Parv organised by the Vinoba Seva Pratisthan (VSP) in collaboration with the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India at the Dr Abhin Chandra Homoeopathic Medical College Hospital here.

The event continued from March 26 to 28. The Parv was inaugurated by Rajya Sabha memer Padama Bibushan Raghunath Mohapatra. He emphasised the traditional Indian healing system of Ayurveda and appreciated the Central Government’s effort to make AYUSH an independent ministry to promote the same. State Health and Family Welfare Minister Naba Kishore Das assured that soon he will hold a stakeholders meeting to rejuvenate the AYUSH department in the State.

The other guests who spoke were Director of Ayush Trinath Majhi, Principal Dr Abhin Chandra Homoeopathic MCH Dr Sudhir Das, former Member State Women Commission Namrata Chadha and Chairman, Odisha Abhibhabak Mahasanga Basudev Bhatta.The meeting was presided over by, president of VSP, former Adviser to Election Commission of India Dr Bhagaban Prakash and coordinated by general secretary VSP and convenor Ayurveda Parv-Odisha Manoj Jena.

In the three-day technical session, 25 research papers were presented by experts and researchers from different Ayurveda, Homoeopathy, Unani, Yoga and Naturopathy colleges and departments. The valedictory ceremony was graced by Assembly Speaker Dr Surjya Narayan Patro as chief guest.
