Two Indian Army personnel, including one officer, succumbed to their fatal injuries in a mysterious blast along the line of control in Kalal area of Nowshera in frontier Rajouri district of Jammu division on Saturday. Three other injured soldiers have been evacuated to a nearby hospital and were undergoing treatment till the time of filing the report.
According to Lt-Col Devender Anand, "during an area domination patrol in Nowshera sector, a mine blast occurred, wherein, two Indian Army soldiers suffered critical injuries and later succumbed to their injuries. Another soldier who received injuries was evacuated and is under treatment".
Lt Col Anand said, "the soldiers who made supreme sacrifice have been identified as Lt Rishi Kumar and Sepoy Manjit". They were brave and extremely committed to the profession of soldiering and have made the supreme sacrifice for the nation in the line of active duty.
Lt Col Anand said, Lt Rishi Kumar is a resident of Begusarai, Bihar and Sepoy Manjit Singh is resident of - Sirvewala, Bhatinda, Punjab.
