Bobby opens up on nepotism debate
Actor Bobby Deol has been around in Hindi films for two and a half decades now. The 50-year-old actor, son of Bollywood icon Dharmendra, opened up on the raging nepotism debate saying mere family background can never let an actor survive in the cut-throat world of films, but hard work and talent can.
“Our work has to speak for us to survive in the industry. Everyone comes from a family, but only your family name cannot allow you to last 25 years in the industry. My father being an actor wanted me to be an actor, too. There was an advantage initially, but that is it. There is a lone journey after that,” says he.
‘A child's mind and body are like wet clay. So, I believe it is imperative that we introduce our kids to various sporting activities. It helps inculcate sportsman spirit, a sense of healthy competition and ample physical activity. Also, once they take a liking to a sport and develop the habit of experimenting, it helps them stay active.’

Actor Asha Negi loved tackling the challenges of playing a journalist recently.
She essays the role in the web series Abhay 2, and said that her fans are curious to know more about her mysterious character.
“I have never played a journalist and it needs an understanding of the vigour to be an anchor. The character has nuances, so the challenging part was to layer the transition. I have had messages coming from all over the world asking about the mystery behind my character — if I am playing good or evil,” said Asha.
‘Used to enjoy blind items’
Fashion designer Masaba Gupta says even after spending 11 years in the fashion industry, she is questioned about her parents and the events of 1988, but she has made her peace with it.
“I have to say that I used to really enjoy reading blind items until it became about me. I think that's the nature of the human mind that the minute something happens to you or you have an experience, you change your viewpoint about it, and you are kinder to people. You don't speculate that much,” Masaba said.
