With so many differences emerging between humans, it’s time to begin afresh and re-instill the culture of connecting with each other with love and respect, says Rajyogi Brahmakumar Nikunj Ji
In our quest for peace, we are all united, which makes it grow stronger with each passing day. However, in a world torn by strife, one might question if this search is still reasonable. Many ask that today, when even the relations of parents and children, husband and wife are fraught with dissent, how can one dream to imagine a world without discord? Is it not a utopian dream?
In Hindu scriptures, the world is described as a tree and is often referred to as the Kalpa Vriksha, wherein kalpa connotes the time period of one complete cycle of creation from golden age to the end of iron age. The seed or the creator of this creation is of course, lord. There is a trunk and many big branches that stem from the tree. The big branches of this world tree represent the main religions of the world that are created by powerful souls who come on earth as religious preceptors. They give birth to a new order or faith that is followed by millions around the world over a period of time. With the passage of time, as this tree grows bigger and older, many new branches come out and the older ones also continue to expand and divide. However, the original purity and strength of religions begin to decline with time and many divisions occur within them and then finally at the end of iron age, the tree dries up completely and the seed emerges.
Well, god and truth is one. When the astronauts fly in their spaceships and see the fragmented earth from above, they see it as one planet. In the same way, spirituality takes us beyond all divisions to a stage where through oneness, the world can become a beautiful family. Since everyone in the world is unique, and therein lies its beauty, individuals are bound to be different. But those differences shouldn’t come in the way of our unity. Which is also why, the foundation of unity does not lie in always doing the same thing but in identifying our common roots. A family is born out of common parents and so, for the world to be united, everyone must belong to the same father.
It is in this realisation that we descend from the same home and the same parent that we bond with everyone as brothers and sisters. When we strip ourselves of all differences and labels that we inherit from the costume of body, we arrive at who we originally are — souls sparkling with energies of knowledge, purity, peace, love, happiness, bliss and power. From the interplay of these energies are born virtues like humility, forgiveness, tolerance, acceptance and cooperation that help us coexist in a world of variety. Remember, unity of hearts is possible with a conscious awareness that we are all souls who are innately virtuous and belong to the same family. This wisdom is loaded with the power to transcend all tangible and intangible barriers that disconnect any two persons, families, communities or nations. Our strong and deep-rooted desire for togetherness despite the current scenario brings us to the understanding that things must have been in complete harmony once upon a time.
The world was first called the paradise, as many scriptures say, and it functioned like one family and one kingdom; it had one language and one religion. Over the passage of time, this unit began to branch out and divisions emerged. And today, with so many mounting differences and global problems reaching a dead-end, it is time to renew the world on all counts. It’s time to begin afresh and re-instill in ourselves the culture of connecting with each other with love and respect the laws of nature and be honest to our original values that bring us together. Let’s plant a sapling of self-change so that we can achieve a world that is united. The day is not far when we shall walk hand-in-hand as one family.
