The work of value addition of forest minor produce is giving employment to forest dwellers and women self-help groups besides enhancing their income, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said on Wednesday.
He was giving an address after a virtual Bhoomi Pujan of the Chhattisgarh State Minor Forest Produce Cooperative Federation residential quarters at Sector-26, Nava Raipur, Atal Nagar from his official residence cum office.
The 72 quarters spread over 4 acres will be built within 18 months for Rs 14.80 crore.
The Chief Minister said the Federation and Forest Department through joint efforts have been working with responsibility to ensure that maximum forest produce is collected.
Forest Minister Mohammed Akbar said the new residential premises will save time for officials and employees in Nava Raipur.
