Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that we will be able to control corona totally only by using masks and maintaining social distancing mandatorily. If it is not followed after the lifting of the lockdown then infection spreads again and the entire efforts go in vain. On the other hand, the lockdown hits the economy hard. Therefore, after the current lockdown, new lockdown will not be imposed and we have to defeat corona with full precuations and alertness by following the rules and regulations.
The Chief Minister in clear words stated that any individual, whether he is chief minister, minister, public representative or officer, action will be taken if the guidelines are not followed. All are required to follow the precautions necessarily to eliminate corona virus. He directed the Ministers not to undertake any public tour till August 14, hold meetings through VC, hold virtual rallies and do not meet more than 5 people at a time at their homes too.
Chouhan was reviewing the situation of corona and arrangements in the state through video conferencing from Chirayu Hospital today. The Minister for Home Narottam Mishra, Minister for Medical Education Vishwas Sarang, Chief Secretary Shri Iqbal Singh Bains, DGP Vivek Johri, Additional Chief Secretary Health Mohammad Suleman and other officers attended the video conference.
The Chief Minister mentioned that saving peoples life is more important than election. Hence, any public programme should not be organised by public representatives. In case of violation of the guidelines, action will be taken to impose fine as well as to register case both.
During the district wise review, it was found that corona infection has been effectively controlled in Morena. Chouhan has said that the way infection spreads there in the last few days and the way the efforts made there promptly to stop the infection are praiseworthy. The Corona positivity rate has come down to 3.03 percent in Morena. Morena has set an example. The situation in Gwalior is also now under control and markets have been opened there. The Chief Minister congratulated teams of both the districts.
In the review of cases of deaths caused by corona in Gwalior, it was found that the life of 4 people could not be saved because they were brought too late in serious condition to the hospital. In this context, the Chief Secretary Bains instructed to find the root cause of every case and investigate what caused the delay. It is important to generate awareness among the people, so that an individual with symptoms could be admitted in hospital in time. The life of corona infected individual can be saved by bringing him/her timely to the hospital.
Chouhan said that it is true that increase has been recorded in cases of corona in the last few days in the state, but comparatively Madhya Pradesh still stood at 15th place in the country. At present, state has 8454 active cases, the recovery rate is 69.9 and fatality rate has declined to 2.77 percent. As many as 21657 corona infected people went back home after recovery in the state. As of today, our per day testing capacity is 9156 per 10 lakh population.
