nChhattisgarh Police on Tuesday arrested two more persons for hosting a birthday party in a Raipur hotel despite a week-long lockdown due to the Covid-19 epidemic.
The two were identified as Amit Dhawal (36) and Rajveer Kaur (27), both residents of the state capital, Raipur Senior Superintendent of Police Ajay Kumar Yadav told The Pioneer.
They were arrested under the Epidemic Act and the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Both Amit and Rajveer are among nine persons who were booked and were at large. They had booked the hotel for the party. As on Tuesday, police have arrested seven persons while seven are at large. Police on Sunday night got a tip about the birthday party after gunfire was heard at Queens Club of India.
One of the accused, Harish Bhai Patel, was also charged with attempt to murder for opening gunfire at a parking lot. Police presented him in a court which sent him to jail.
