A talk series ‘Baaton Baaton Mein’ is being held everyday on Instagram. Hosted by renowned art critic Sunil Mishr, the series is being held for the art lovers.
Here on Monday, the series marked its 68th episode. In this episode, Sunil Mishr talked with a renowned classical flutist Ronu Majumdar. It is to be noted that the series is all about meeting with renowned personalities of classical dance and music world. They talk about their struggles, life and success during the talk show.
Ronu Maajumdar is also a known name when it comes to Hindustani Classical Music. Ronu Majumdar is a pioneer in flute recital and his forte is to play wooden Indian Classical flute. Earlier, Ronu Majumdar took lessons from his father Bhanu Majumdar and later became a huge name in this field.
Majumdar belongs to Maihar Gharana and usually plays Hindustani Classical Music. Collaboratively, Majumdar has played with Pt. Ravishankar in the Indian Festival Orchestra. Like Ustad Allaudin Khan, Ronu Majumdar has done miracles in flute recital.
Pt. Majumdar addressed the audience and told them about himself. He interacted with the audience for a while informing them about Indian Classical Music. He then started the performance by chanting the notes SA RE GA MA along with the audience.
Pandit Ronu Majumdar said, “Indian Classical Music is not like western music which is fast paced and requires physical participation. Indian Classical touches the soul and can be enjoyed with closed eyes and calm mind.”
