A special drive for revision of electoral rolls commenced at different polling booth in Dhanbad on Saturday and continued on Sunday too.
People especially those who have attained age of 18 were seen filling forms for enrollment as new voters at different polling booths .
Saurab Ghoshe who attained the age said, if everything goes well then he would be voting for the Municipal elections that may be held in near future. “But I would be happy to vote during the 2024Lok Sabha elections as I would get a chance to vote for the first time for the country,” said Saurab, who was in line at the Middle school Bartand polling booth.
The BLO collecting forms said those eligible for vote are being requested to come with age proof especially the certificate of 10th pass or matriculation. The Card would be prepared after the revision drive would conclude next month, he said.
Meanwhile, senior district officials including ADM law and order Chandan Kumar, SDM Satyendar Kumar and others inspected the ongoing drive at different locations.
The SDM said the drive will continue while claims and corrections of entries would be done by December 15 .On January 5, 2021 revised rolls would be published with addition of new voters. The final publication of electoral rolls would be made on January 15, 2021.
